How Tamil No Entry Breaks the Stereotypes of Women in Cinema

The Election Commission of India on Monday, August 22, said that entry in the electoral roll should not be deleted over the non-submission of Aadhaar. The Commission reacted following some media reports surrounding the issue. "With reference to stories reported in the media, it may be noted that submission of Aadhaar in Form-6B is voluntary. No entry in the electoral roll shall be deleted on the ground of non-submission of Aadhaar," said the poll panel.

Tamil No Entry

With the steep rise in the daily COVID-19 cases in Vellore and its neighbouring districts of Ranipet, Tiruvannamalai and Tirupattur, Vellore Collector P. Kumaravel Pandian has banned the entry of tourists, including international visitors, by road and rail to the fort town from Thursday.

With effect from 31 March 2022, 2359 hours (Singapore time), the border measures for travellers arriving in Singapore from India (which is classified under the General Travel Category) will be as follows:a) All fully vaccinated travellers and non-fully vaccinated children aged 12 and below are permitted to enter Singapore. They will not need to apply for entry approvals or take designated Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) transport. They will continue to be subjected to a pre-departure test (PDT) within 2 days before departure for Singapore, but will no longer be required to serve a Stay-Home Notice (SHN) or undergo an unsupervised Antigen Rapid Test (ART) after arriving in Singapore. The PDT is a pre-requisite before passengers are allowed to board their flights to Singapore. They will also be required to present their valid COVID-19 negative PCR/ART test result upon arrival in Singapore. Fully vaccinated recovered travellers who are certified positive for COVID-19 between 7 to 90 days (inclusive) before departure for Singapore may qualify for exemption from COVID-19 tests. You may use the self-check tool at -traveller-checker to determine if you qualify as a Vaccinated-Recovered traveller. Please refer to the travel checklist for fully vaccinated and recovered travellers at safetravel.ica.gov.sg/vaccinated-recoveredb) Non-fully vaccinated Long-Term Pass Holders (LTPHs) and Short-Term Visitors (STVs) aged 13 and above are generally not allowed to enter Singapore, with the following exceptions (i) LTPHs medically ineligible for vaccines; (ii) LTPHs aged 13 to 17, subject to the appropriate measures and (iii) LTPHs and STVs with other valid entry approval (e.g. for compassionate reasons). They are required to take a PDT within 2 days before departure for Singapore, undergo a 7-day SHN, and take a PCR test at the end of their SHN period. Remote Supervised ART Services2 In addition, with effect from 31 March 2022, 2359 hours (Singapore time), Singapore Citizens (SCs), Permanent Residents (PRs), Work Pass Holders and other LTPHs arriving from India may use the remote supervised ART services by approved licensed providers in Singapore if they face difficulties obtaining valid PDT within 2 days before returning to Singapore. Going forward, Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests, professionally administered ARTs and ARTs supervised by approved licensed providers in Singapore (including remotely supervised ARTs) taken within 2 days before departure for Singapore will be accepted as valid PDTs. Travellers who wish to use the remotely supervised ART PDT services should book their slots early with these providers via their respective websites and bring along the approved ART kits from Singapore for their remotely supervised ART. Please refer to -art-overseas-sg for a list of approved remotely supervised ART PDT providers, and the travellers and countries/regions that this service applies to. With effect from 14 March 2022, 2359 hours (Singapore time), Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) travellers entering Singapore from India will be required to do an unsupervised self-swab (USS) Antigen Rapid Test (ART) within 24 hours of entry. This will replace the previous requirement for a supervised self-swab (SSS) ART. Travellers are required to report their USS ART test result via sync.gov.sg before proceeding with their activities in Singapore.2 In addition, all travellers from India will still need to undergo COVID-19 pre-departure test. Travellers are to present a negative Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test result or a professionally administered (i.e., performed by trained medical professionals) negative ART result taken within 48 hours before their departure to Singapore. It is a pre-requisite before passengers are allowed to board their flights to Singapore. With effect from 21 February 2022, 2359 hours (Singapore time), border measures for travellers entering Singapore from India will be simplified as follows: a. Travel history requirement will be reduced from 14 days to 7 days;b. Stay-Home Notice (SHN) duration will be standardised to 7 days across for travellers on non-VTL (Vaccinated Travel Lane) flights;c. Enhanced testing regime for travellers arriving on VTLs will be ceased (i.e. lifting of requirement to self-administer Antigen Rapid Test [ART] and test negative before leaving accommodation from the 2nd to 7th day of arrival in Singapore);d. VTL travellers will no longer need to perform an on-arrival PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) test. Instead, they will have up to 24 hours from their entry into Singapore to take a supervised self-swab (SSS) ART at one of the testing centres located across Singapore2 Nonetheless, all VTL and non-VTL travellers from India will still need to undergo COVID-19 pre-departure test and present a negative PCR test result or a professionally administered (i.e., performed by trained medical professionals) negative ART result taken within 48 hours before their departure to Singapore. For fully vaccinated-recovered travellers, you are not required to undergo COVID-19 pre-departure test but are required to possess one of the following medical proof/documents, which must be in English or translated into English, showing positive COVID-19 infection detected 7 days to 90 days before date of departure for Singapore:EITHERA. (i) COVID-19 PCR test administered at an internationally accredited or recognised lab/clinic/medical facility OR (ii) ART result administered by a trained medical professional (self-swabs are disallowed)OR B. Medical discharge memo issued by the relevant state authority or licensed medical professional showing (i) Name (per travel document used to enter Singapore); (ii) ID number (per travel document used to enter Singapore), or Date of Birth; AND (iii) Date of infection which must fall within 7 days to 90 days (inclusive) before the date of departure for SingaporeThe above is a pre-requisite before passengers are allowed to board their flights to Singapore. Upon arrival in Singapore, passengers will also be required to present their valid COVID-19 negative PCR/ART test result or (only for vaccinated-recovered travellers) medical proof/documents of COVID-19 infection detected 7 days to 90 days before date of departure for Singapore. 3 Please refer to the Singapore Ministry of Health press release dated 16 February 2022 ( -highlights/details/resetting-our-measures-to-live-with-the-omicron-variant_16Feb2022) and the SafeTravel website ( ) for more details.4 Should you have any queries, please call the SafeTravel Enquiries Helpline at +65 6812 5555 or submit your query to (www.safetravel.ica.gov.sg/contact-us) for assistance.Best regards,Singapore Consulate-General in Chennai
